Small Groups

The Austin Affiliate of AAUW provides many opportunities to connect with other members. Below is a list of small groups that meet regularly. Additional information about small group activities is provided in the monthly newsletter.

Travel Club

Travel Club is an opportunity to hear about the recent travels of other group members or a “day trip” to a nearby town. Check the monthly newsletter for the exact date and location. Contact person: DedaRae Graber – drgraber@charter.net.

First Friday Lunch Group

Meets at 11:30 am for a one-hour lunch on the first Friday of each month at Bella Victoria. Reservations required. Contact Person: Dorothy Krob – sdkrob@live.com.

Needlework Group

Meets on Saturday mornings at 9:30 AM at Coffee House on Main. Bring your knitting, crochet, embroidery, etc. You are also welcome to just enjoy a cup of coffee and talk – no needlework project required. The group is also happy to offer lessons for those looking to start a new hobby. Contact Person: Sue Grove at sgrove@riverland.edu.

Great Decisions Group

Great Decisions is an informal discussion group for AAUW women who are interested in learning more about many countries and current issues. The Foreign Policy Association provides the purchased materials. We meet for one hour on the fourth Monday of the month at 1:00 PM at KSMQ. The topics for January-May will be announced via the monthly newsletter. Contact Person: Peggy Benzkofer at pjbenzko@gmail.com.

Morning Book Group

This group meets to discuss the book choice. This group meets at 9:00 am on the third Thursday of the month at Perkins Restaurant in Austin. Books being discussed will be in the monthly newsletter and are listed below.
