Join us tonight at Riverland

Please plan to join us tonight at Riverland in room C110 East Building.  Remember to bring your donation for our basket to donate to the State Convention AAUW fundraiser.  If you have an item, that’s great.  If not, cash works well!

Our program features the winners of the 11th annual Women’s History Month Contest that centered around the theme, “The Changing Role of Women in the Twentieth Century.”

Austin High School students Hannah Alberts, Emily Sayles and Isaac Christopherson all tied for first place.  They pose with Lisa Maatz in the photo below.  Note: Lisa serves as Vice President of Government Relations and she works to advance AAUW’s priority issues on Capital, in the White House, and in coalition with other organizations.

Nominate an AAUW Member for a U.S. Postage Stamp

There have been more than a dozen women involved with AAUW who have appeared on postage stamps. Including Jane Addams, Eleanor Roosevelt, Frances Perkins, and Rachel Carson. We’d love to see more AAUW women represented on our nation’s postage stamps — so we’ll be choosing one woman from AAUW’s rich history to nominate for a commemorative stamp. We’ll select the winning nominee to propose to the U.S. Postal Service. Voting closes April 30 at 12 p.m. EST. Read more.
